Volcano is deeply committed to supporting and protecting freedom of speech. At the same time, We draw lines around a few narrowly defined but deeply important categories of content and behavior that jeopardize Our users, threaten our infrastructure, and damage our community. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to anyone using (“You”, or “Your”) the Volcano website located at https://volcano.dev/ and any sub-sites operated by Volcano (collectively, the “Website”), and all users that access or purchase a Subscription to the Products and services provided by Volcano Services, LLC (“Volcano”, “We”, or “Our”) (collectively, “Services”). Capitalized terms not defined herein shall have the same meaning as in the Volcano Customer Agreement (available at https://volcano.dev/legal/customer-agreement) between You and Volcano. By using the Services or Website, You agree to this AUP.

1. Modifications. Please check this AUP periodically for changes. We reserve the right, in Our sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of the terms of this AUP. Your continued use of the Website or Services following the posting of changes will mean that You accept and agree to the changes.

2. Acceptable Use Policy. You may use the Website and Services, so long as You comply with this AUP. You agree You will not, and nor permit a third party to:

  • gain unauthorized access to any portion or feature of the Website, or any other systems or networks connected to the Website or to any Volcano server, or to any of the Services offered on or through the Website, by hacking, password “mining” or any other illegitimate means;
  • use the Website or Services in any manner that interferes or attempts to interfere with the proper working of the Website, Services, or any transaction being conducted on the Website, or with any other person’s use of the Website or Services;
  • forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any message or transmittal You send to Volcano on or through the Website or any service offered on or through the Website;
  • pretend that You are, or that You represent, someone else, or impersonate any other individual or entity, including in the connection with the creation of Your Account;
  • scrape or proxy the Website, operate the Website as a proxy or VPN service, or host or distribute media for hot-linking or similar unauthorized third-party use;
  • create multiple Accounts using automated means or registering for bulk accounts under a single user without Volcano’s permission;
  • rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer or provide access to the Website or Services to any third party;
  • engage in name-squatting or similar abusive registration or reservation practices within namespaces associated with Volcano, including registering, acquiring, holding, reselling, bartering, trading, or otherwise obtaining namespace entities primarily for the purpose of resale, speculation, or future use without a legitimate business purpose;
  • promote, publish, upload, store, transmit, distribute, or otherwise make available content that is unlawful or harmful, including content that is obscene, excessively graphic or violent, constitutes or promotes hate speech, is sexually exploitative or abusive, discriminates against protected classes, or facilitates the exploitation or abuse of others, including any child sexual exploitation or abuse material;
  • create, send, or facilitate unsolicited bulk or commercial communications (“spam”), including spam, clickbait, click fraud, artificial traffic, deceptive engagement schemes, or other activities designed to manipulate clicks, impressions, views, traffic, or other measures of user engagement;
  • threaten, promote, glorify, facilitate, or incite violence, terrorism, or other serious physical harm;
  • harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, or otherwise abuse others, or violate, infringe, or misappropriate the privacy, publicity, intellectual property, contractual, or other rights of Volcano or any third-party; or
  • use the Website or Services for any unlawful purpose, to solicit or facilitate the performance of any illegal activity, or in any manner that violates applicable law or infringes or misappropriates the rights of Volcano or any third party.

3. Reporting Violations. If You become aware of content or conduct that violates this AUP, including any content described in Section 2 as child sexual exploitation or abuse material, please report it to security@volcano.dev.

Violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Agreement, and may result in the immediate suspension or termination of Your access to the Services or Website.
